ToggleAffecting about 11% of Idaho adults aged 12+, alcohol addiction is one of the most common types of substance abuse. Alcohol addiction starts in many ways.
Some people use it to self-medicate underlying mental health disorders or to cope with life stress. A family history of substance abuse, drinking at a young age, and trauma are among notable risk factors.
Effective treatment can help you overcome alcohol abuse. Icarus Wellness and Recovery is an addiction and mental health treatment center located in Boise, Idaho. As an accredited treatment center with top-rated programs, we are here to help you or your loved one heal.
Our dedicated professionals are here to provide compassionate care and address the underlying causes of alcohol addiction. We provide comprehensive care for alcohol and other types of substance abuse, with programs that teach the tools necessary for success in everyday life, long after treatment is over.
What Do the Alcohol Rehab Idaho Programs at Icarus Wellness Offer?
Icarus Wellness and Recovery has a full continuum of care for substance abuse and mental health disorders. Here are the alcohol treatment options available at our center.
Inpatient Residential Treatment Program for Alcohol Abuse
Our inpatient residential treatment program for alcohol abuse is highly structured. While you are in this program, you can expect to engage in an all-day therapy schedule starting after breakfast each morning.
Clients at this care level live on-site at our center in a dedicated substance-free environment. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. You will be able to stay in touch with loved ones, who will ideally be involved in your treatment process via family therapy sessions.
Outpatient Programs for Alcohol Abuse
Icarus Wellness offers two main levels of outpatient care: Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) and intensive outpatient program (IOP). PHP is the most intensive type of outpatient program, with a time commitment similar to that of a typical work or school schedule. IOP is less intensive and is ideal for clients who need to balance obligations, like work, with treatment.
Clients attending outpatient services at our center live at home or in sober living but commute to treatment during the week rather than living on-site. You may enter one of our outpatient programs as a starting level of care or as a follow-up to our residential program.
Specialized Programs for Alcohol Addiction
We have specialized programs for individuals grappling with addiction who are a part of specific groups.
For example, our executive drug rehab program for professionals. These programs create a supportive environment for groups who may have specific challenges, barriers, or considerations that affect their treatment needs.
Dual Diagnosis Treatment
People with alcohol addiction often have one or more additional mental health conditions. For example, major depressive disorder, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and other mental health issues can co-occur with alcohol abuse.
Your likelihood of recovering from both disorders is higher if they are both treated. This is exactly what dual-diagnosis treatment aims to do. Icarus Wellness provides dual-diagnosis care in both our inpatient and outpatient treatment programs to help you achieve the best possible outcomes.
Aftercare and Alumni Support
Many people consider recovery a lifelong journey. Before you leave alcohol addiction treatment at Icarus Wellness and Recovery, we will help you create a personalized aftercare plan. This may include ongoing therapy, support groups, sober housing, and other resources that support your lasting recovery.
Additionally, we have a free alumni program open to all former clients. Our alumni program provides continued connection to our center and other treatment graduates so that you will always have the chance to experience compassionate support when needed.

What to Expect from Effective Alcohol Treatment in Idaho
We’ll personalize your treatment based on your unique recovery process. All Icarus Idaho clients get custom treatment plans and follow comprehensive therapy schedules, typically including:
Evidence-Based Treatments
Our providers use the most evidence-based treatments for alcohol abuse. These include but are not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, contingency management, motivational therapy, and 12-step.
Medications for alcohol abuse can also be used to help individuals overcome addiction. We have providers on-site who are able to prescribe medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for alcohol use disorder if it is something that would benefit you.
Group Therapy Sessions
Group therapy sessions are the “base” of our residential and outpatient recovery programs. Icarus Wellness and Recovery clients engage in group therapy sessions on all treatment days. Groups vary in subject matter and type.
For example, one group might focus on skill building. Another might focus on processing trauma and past experiences, self-awareness and accountability, or fun activities that support sobriety.
Individual Therapy Sessions
Individual therapy sessions matter because they let you focus on your personal recovery journey. Your assigned therapist will get to know you and will work with you to set and meet goals.
Like groups, clients in all care levels at Icarus Wellness will meet with an individual therapist regularly (e.g., once per week).
Family Involvement and Therapy
Family involvement and family therapy are strongly recommended for those in substance use disorder treatment. Positive social or family support is linked to long-term abstinence and recovery, and involving family in the treatment of substance use disorders is linked to increased treatment retention and engagement.
The goals of these sessions can vary. Communication, understanding one another, and substance abuse education are common areas of focus.
Recreation, Outings, and Holistic Treatments
In addition to evidence-based treatment methods, we offer a wide range of supportive activities to help facilitate enjoyment, life skill development, and healthy routines in clients. Examples include but aren’t limited to expressive arts, meditation, and physical activity.
You’ll have the most exposure to recreation activities, outings, and even holistic treatments in our residential inpatient rehab program for alcohol addiction.

FAQs About Alcohol Treatment in Idaho
Does Icarus in Boise accept insurance?
Yes. Icarus Recovery and Wellness accepts most major insurance providers. By accepting insurance, we ease the financial burden of treatment costs on individuals and families. Please call our admissions line for insurance verification.
How long are most alcohol treatment programs?
Residential alcohol rehab programs often last for about 30-60 days. Ideally, we encourage clients to participate in an outpatient program for continued support following inpatient alcohol rehab. This is called a step-down approach.
Are there Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in Idaho?
Yes, many AA meetings are available across the Gem State. Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings are a free resource for people overcoming alcoholism. To find your nearest local AA resource with a list of meeting times and locations, go to the official Alcoholics Anonymous website and click “Find AA Near You.”
How do I know if I need alcohol treatment?
Anyone who feels that they have or might have a problem with alcohol deserves help. Treatment centers like Icarus Wellness provide pre-intake assessments that can help you determine the need for treatment.
How much does alcohol rehab in Idaho cost?
Even though Idaho is one of the states with less expensive addiction rehab services, the cost is still steep without assistance, coming to an average of $42,195 per person (for an inpatient rehab stay). However, this does not mean that that’s how much you’ll pay. Choosing a center like Icarus Wellness that accepts insurance can help you reduce out-of-pocket costs.
What if I need medical detox for alcohol abuse?
Some clients will require medical detox prior to entering addiction treatment at Icarus Wellness. If you are at risk of moderate to severe alcohol withdrawal symptoms, we can refer you to a nearby detox center. Detox for alcohol and drug addiction usually takes about a week. After detox is over, you can transfer to our center.
Who pays for Idaho alcohol rehab programs?
There are multiple ways to pay for alcohol rehab. Treatment centers like Icarus accept insurance, which is ideal for many clients and families looking for alcohol or drug rehab services. HSA, FSA, self-pay, and help through scholarships are also common payment options.
