ToggleFind Evidence-Based Options for Crack Cocaine Treatment at Icarus Idaho
Crack addiction impacts not just the person experiencing it, but also, their family members and loved ones. Seeking treatment for crack cocaine abuse matters because it can help you avoid the long-term risks of using crack cocaine. It might even save your life.
At Icarus Wellness and Recovery, we treat crack addiction and other forms of substance abuse. This article will cover our evidence-based programs for crack cocaine treatment in Boise, how crack cocaine addiction starts, and the consequences of crack cocaine abuse.
Substance Abuse Treatment Programs for Crack Cocaine in Boise
Icarus Behavioral Health is a trusted name in addiction treatment and mental health services. With multiple locations, we offer a full continuum of care for crack cocaine abuse. Our programs are listed below.
Residential Inpatient Rehab
Residential inpatient treatment for crack cocaine abuse entails living on-site at a treatment center. Inpatient rehab for drug abuse can be powerful because of the immersive nature of the program. At Icarus Behavioral Health, clients in inpatient rehab follow an intensive daily schedule filled with groups, individual therapy, meals, and other activities.
Partial Hospitalization Program
Our partial hospitalization program provides treatment for crack cocaine addiction five days per week. Clients in the partial hospitalization program (PHP) at Icarus Wellness and Recovery meet for groups and other activities. This includes individual therapy sessions, held Mondays through Fridays. PHP gives clients the freedom of living off-site–whether at home or in sober living–paired with a thorough, highly structured treatment schedule.
External Withdrawal Care Before Admission
Icarus Idaho does not provide on-site medical detox or acute withdrawal care. If withdrawal care, medical stabilization, or clearance is needed, it should occur with an appropriate outside medical provider before admission. Our program can provide ongoing addiction treatment once a person is medically stable and clinically appropriate for care.
Intensive Outpatient Program
The intensive outpatient program (IOP) at Icarus Wellness and Recovery has a reduced time commitment compared to PHP, providing more flexibility for clients who are in a place where they can balance obligations like work with treatment.
Usually, intensive outpatient program schedules involve attending therapy roughly three days per week.
Outpatient and Aftercare
Standard outpatient care provides ongoing support through therapy (this could be once-weekly individual therapy or something else) and other resources, like medication management. It is the next step down from IOP.
Before you are done with treatment at our center, we will help you make an aftercare plan to set you up for continued success. Your aftercare plan may include ongoing professional support, referrals to sober housing, career and education help, support groups, or anything else that is beneficial given your unique situation.

Understanding Crack Cocaine Addiction
Icarus Idaho helps people recover from drug and alcohol addiction from an informed, human-centered perspective. Likely, you are familiar with some of the most known effects of the drug if you or your loved one are struggling with crack cocaine addiction. Here are some things you might want to know about crack cocaine addiction if you don’t already.
How Crack Addiction Starts
Cocaine addiction can affect anyone, but some factors put you at a higher risk. Genetics and family history, personal history of trauma and other mental health challenges, and using drugs and alcohol at a young age can all increase the risk of drug abuse.
People often use cocaine for reasons like increased energy, staying awake, euphoria, or as an appetite suppressant. In some cases, this can be why people start using the drug. We find it critical to address the underlying causes that may be associated with crack cocaine addiction.
Consequences of Crack Cocaine Abuse
Some consequences of cocaine abuse depend on how you use the drug, but others can occur no matter how you consume it. Possible consequences of crack abuse include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Smoking cocaine can lead to lung damage and may worsen asthma symptoms. Crack cocaine is mostly consumed by smoking, so this is something to be aware of.
- Adverse psychological effects (e.g., psychosis, panic attacks, hallucinations, paranoia, mood swings, and irritability).
- Long-term neurological problems and movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease.
- Reduced blood flow in the gastrointestinal tract, potentially leading to ulcers and tears.
- Cardiovascular damage, inflammation of the heart muscle, and increased risk of stroke.
- Overdose and toxicity.
Legal consequences, financial issues, and other risks, like job loss, may also ensue. Icarus Wellness and Recovery is here to help you break free from cocaine abuse.
