Finding the Right Level of Substance Use Disorder Treatment

Whether you need inpatient rehab programs or outpatient treatment, Icarus is available to help. We can provide a comprehensive assessment if you’re uncertain about what level of care you need. We’ll look at your substance abuse history and patterns, physical wellness, and daily functioning to help you find the proper setting within our rehab facility.

Here is an overview of our levels of care:

Inpatient and Residential Programs

Insurance coverage usually only covers inpatient treatment for people whose addiction requires a higher intensity treatment setting. They may have a current mental health crisis, be at risk of harming themselves, or have the most severe symptoms.

Inpatient programs offer 24/7 medical support and structured care. Our inpatient treatment center supports those whose substance abuse is so severe that they cannot function alone.

Outpatient Treatment – Partial Hospitalization Programs

Health insurance benefits usually cover partial hospitalization programs for clients who don’t need around-the-clock supervision but still have somewhat impaired functioning. They usually require intensive daily drug and alcohol addiction treatment services. People in the PHOP receive day-long treatment but sleep at home or in a supportive sober living center at night.

Outpatient Treatment – Intensive Outpatient Programs

Insurance providers most often approve intensive outpatient programs as a starting point, especially for those who haven’t previously attended a rehab facility. At Icarus Idaho, the intensive outpatient programs are evidence-based and address your personalized needs. The key difference is that this option allows you to maintain your daily life, whether it’s school, work, or family needs, while attending a high-quality rehab center.

Co-Occurring Disorder Treatment Services

The term co-occurring disorder, sometimes called dual diagnosis, means that a person has a substance abuse disorder plus an additional mental health disorder. As an insurance provider, GHI recognizes the need for rehab centers to treat both conditions simultaneously to have lasting recovery.

Effective Therapies for Drug and Alcohol Addiction

Clients at our addiction treatment center will receive evidence-based therapies in individual, group, or family settings. Our licensed therapists facilitate behavioral change by helping clients understand the “why” behind their relationship with drugs or alcohol.

Some standard therapies we use:

• Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)
• Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
• Motivational interviewing (MI)
• Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
• Art therapy
• Music and movement therapy

Medication-Assisted Treatment Services Covered

Certain substances, particularly opioid drugs (including prescriptions) and alcohol require specialized care in the first days of recovery. Stopping these substances suddenly can cause severe complications, including dehydration, seizures, and, in the worst-case scenario, death.

MAT is a frequent solution. The doctor prescribes an FDA-approved replacement medication, which reduces the chances of harm while stopping those substances. As the brain adjusts to the lower dose medication, the doctor can safely step the client off the replacement medication gradually, eventually becoming free of substances.

Medication Management (Monitoring Prescription Medications)

While it’s ideal to stop using all substances, that’s not always possible. Many clients require medications for mental and physical health challenges. When this happens, we will monitor the effectiveness of prescribed medications. We’ll also make sure clients don’t have any unwanted drug interactions. Our doctor will make any necessary adjustments should the need arise.

Relapse Prevention Strategies for After Drug and Alcohol Rehab

Our goal is to ensure that you have all the tools you need to stay sober after you leave the addiction treatment center. We work with you to create an aftercare plan, helping prevent relapse. Working with a therapist or peer groups, you’ll create a map that keeps you pointed in the right direction while also helping you avoid common roadblocks.

For instance, we’ll make sure you know where to find the nearest SMART Recovery, Alcholics Anonymous, or Narcotics Anonymous programs for ongoing weekly support. These groups provide accountability and coping tools at no cost.
